Week Four

Think back to Sunday’s message. What sticks out?

Key Scriptures

“The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get” (Proverbs 21:20).

Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest. (Proverbs 6:6-8)

Investing Principles

  1. You are made to be a Sower

22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

2. God gives seed to everyone

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifullyEach one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good workAs it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. (2 Corinthians 9:6-10)

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. (Ecclesiastes 11:1)

3. Diversify your investments

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, or even to eight, for you know not what disaster may happen on earth. (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2)

4. Only invest in what you understand.

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”. (Proverbs 24:3-4)

5. Be patient

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. (1 Timothy 6:9)

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. (Proverbs 13:11)

Note: Money + consistency + time = wealth.
