“PROTECTED BY GOD’S POWER” | Pastor John Danganan

October 10, 2021

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great  mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of  Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled,  and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through  faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. – 1 Peter 1:3-5 (NIV)

US FOR SALVATION BY SUSTAINING OUR FAITH.

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who  are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be  conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many  brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he  also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. – Romans 8:28-30 (ESV)

  1. YOU’VE BEEN BORN AGAIN TO A

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart  of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 26:36)

Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned  into another man. (1 Samuel 10:6)

  1. TRUST  TO PROTECT YOUR FAITH.

“who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the  last time.” – 1 Peter 1:5

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat but I have prayed  for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your  brothers” – Luke 22:31

“34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” – Matthew 24:34-35

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my  hand.” – John 10:28

“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I  will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:6

“Christ is all in all.” Remember, therefore, it is not thy hold of Christ that saves thee—it is Christ; it  is not thy joy in Christ that saves thee—it is Christ; it is not even faith in Christ, though that be the  instrument—it is Christ’s blood and merits; therefore, look not so much to thy hand with which  thou art grasping Christ, as to Christ; look not to thy hope, but to Jesus, the source of thy hope;  look not to thy faith, but to Jesus, the author and finisher of thy faith. We shall never find  happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; it is what Jesus is, not what we  are, that gives rest to the soul.Charles Spurgeon
