Core Values :  Prayer

Philippians 4:6-7

 

Core values our everyday discipleship and the ministry of our Church 

We want to cultivate a church wide focus on

   Common about prayer:

  1. Does prayer really work?
  2. Why do I need to pray?
  3. Why do some prayers go unanswered?
  4. Why doesn’t God answer my prayers?

What we believe:

loves us and desires a relationship with us

    We know how much God loves us because we have felt his love and because we believe him when he tells us that he loves us dearly. 1 John 4:16a (Living) 

Created in His image, we seek to with God

                    “God has planted eternity in the human heart”  Eccles 3:11 (NLT)

Prayer is our means of with God

  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”    Philip. 4:6 (NIV) 

God us through the power of prayer

    “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”      Philip. 4:7 (NIV) 

Prayer is the of everything we do 

   “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42 (NIV) 

Our response:

Pray

                        Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12 (NIV) 

Pray and

O Lord, hear my prayer,  listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.  Psalm 143:1 (NIV)

Pray

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.”  James 5:16b (NLT) 

            Jesus prayed and encourages us to do the same
