Trusting God

10032021

Trust is a powerful thing. Trust is built upon truth and consistency (dependability over time). When someone lies to you, it violates your trust. When someone is not consistent or not dependable it violates your trust. I am led this morning by the Holy Spirit to continue to minister to you concerning Faith or Trusting God. Trust gets stronger over time as we get to know someone, and the same holds true for the Lord. Faith, is simply trusting in the Lord…but there is more to the story. Jesus is the source of your faith, your trust, and it has a supernatural component to it. Faith is not merely a natural trust, but a supernatural one.

Our Salvation experience began by faith (trusting the Word of God)

Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV)

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Hebrews 12:22 – Jesus is the Source and Finisher of our Faith

1. God wants you to Trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP)

5 Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart

And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6 In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,

And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

Hebrews 11:6 – Without Faith (Trust) it is impossible to please God.

2. Trust comes from the Hearing & Meditating of the Word of God.

Hebrews 10:17 – Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God

Joshua 1:8-9 – Meditate on the Word day and night –

3. Trust is verified by Action.

James 2:22,26 Faith without works is dead.

Proverbs 3:6 (TLB)

6 In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Proverbs 3:6 (NLT)

6 Seek his will in all you do,

and he will show you which path to take.

1 Corinthians 1:9 (AMP)

9 God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Corinthians 1:18-20 (AMP)

18 As surely as God is trustworthy and faithful and means what He says, our speech and message to you have not been Yes [that might mean] No.

19 For the Son of God, Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who has been preached among you by us, by myself, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not Yes and No; but in Him it is [always the divine] Yes.

20 For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.

James 2:22 (NLT)

22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.

James 2:26 (NLT)

26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

Hebrews 12:2 (AMP)

2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith Give and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
