I GUESS I JUST FEEL LIKE Week Two: “How to Experience Transformation with How I Handle Stress”

September 19, 2021

(1) Acknowledge there is no such thing as a stress-free life.

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”   – John 16:33b

(2) Recognize the difference between eustress and distress.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4

(3) Evaluate whether I need to speed up or slow down my pace.

6 “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” – Proverbs 6:6-8

Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.   – Mark 2:27

(4) Understand how I manage time either contributes to or reduces my stress.

15 “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:15-17

(5) Daily give my source of stress to Jesus.

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” – Psalm 55:22

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30
