Why Church? Because our community needs Jesus.

Why Church? It’s ok to ask.

Week 6: Because our community needs Jesus.
Week 5: Because we need each other.
Week 4: Because we need clarity in a time of confusion.
Week 3: Because we were created to worship together.
Week 2: Because we are committed to each other’s spiritual growth.
Week 1: Because Jesus loves the church.

Our Situation

According to one recent Barna survey, “47% of Millennials (born 1984-1998) who are practicing Christians believe it is wrong to share one’s personal beliefs with someone of a different faith in hopes that they will one day share the same faith.”

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:11-12

13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 1 Peter 3:13-14

Our Preparation

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. 1 Peter 3:15a

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. 1 Peter 3:15b

Our Orientation

But do this with gentleness and respect,16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 1 Peter 3:15-16

Our Conversation

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:2-6
