I Believe…in the Holy Universal Church

                                        I believe in the Holy Universal Church,

                                                  the Communion of Saints    

                              Matthew 16:18        I Peter 2:9-10      Ephesians 4:3-6

The Apostles’ Creed helps us the core beliefs of our Christian faith

Today:    “I believe….. in the Holy Universal ”

The Church today is up against some significant

Jesus the Church

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Matthew 16:18 (NIV)

Holy  “set for God”  

9  But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

“ekklesia” – called – called       

Church:   a gathering of people who belong to and seek to do his will

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:10 (NIV)

The Church is God’s answer to our for belonging, community, acceptance, support & love.

           Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

The Church is the of Christ

            Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)

We are meant to continue Jesus’ in the world

         As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21 (NIV)

        We are to be part of God’s holy universal church
