“WISDOM AND THE FEAR OF GOD” | Pastor John Danganan

August 8, 2021

1 “The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:  2 To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, 3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; 4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth— 5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, 6 to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles. 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:1-7)

WISDOM IN FEARING GOD: LIVE A  GOD-CENTEREDNESS THAT SHAPES ELSE IN LIFE.

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

1. WISDOM BEGINS BY HAVING A  FEAR OF GOD.

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence  but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,” (Philippians 2:12)

2. THE MORE YOU FEAR GOD, THE MORE YOU GROW CLOSER IN WITH HIM.

18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. (Psalm 145:18-19)
