The Holy Spirit

Statement of Faith

Ephesians 1:3-14

We believe the Holy Spirit is the author of Scripture, the supernatural agent in spiritual regeneration and the one who convicts the world of sin. (Titus 3:5; John 3:3-5; John 16:8; Ezekiel 36:26-27; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, permanently indwells the believer as a deposit, and seals them unto the day of redemption. In all He does He glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:11; Ephesians 1:13-15, 4:3-4, 30; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; John 16:13-14)

We believe the Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to all believers as He wills, and He strengthens, guides, equips, and empowers believers for obedient living and service. (Ephesians 3:14-16; John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11; Acts 1:8, 2:17-18, 16:7)

We believe the Holy Spirit speaks to us on behalf of the Father, through us to others, and for us as intercessor before the Father. (John 16:13; Luke 10:16; Acts 1:8; Matthew 10:19-20; Romans 8:26- 27)

We believe the Holy Spirit is continually at work in the life of the believer by sanctifying the believer’s character, transforming him to be more like Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Romans 8:29)
