Family Discussion Points:

*Open by reading Zechariah 1:3

  1. God longs for his children to return to Him. Have you ever noticed yourself turning away from God? Why do we struggle with the concept that God longs for/wants us to return to Him?
  2. God chose a people, the Israelites. God also chooses us. How do you feel about God choosing you to be His child?
  3. Zechariah mentions Joshua’s filthy clothes as a symbol of his iniquity (sin). Can you share of a time that you recognized your uncleanliness before God?
  4. Why is it important that we understand God does not just clean our garments, but he gives us new permanently imperishable and righteous garments?
  5. Zechariah saw Jesus rightly as the Good Shepherd, Priest, and King. How have you seen Jesus fulfill these roles in your life?
  6. If you are not close to God right now, what is keeping you from returning?

* Close by thanking God for providing a way for us to return to Him through Jesus.
