Proverbs 21:25 “The craving of a sluggard will be the ruin of him, because his hands refuse to work.”
Proverbs 13:4 “A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”
Proverbs 26:14 “As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.”
Proverbs 24:30-34 “I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who had no sense; thrones had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest– and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”
You can be and be .
Romans 12:11 “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
What is the solution to the deadly sin of sloth?
- sloth.
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Genesis 2:2 “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all the work.”
John 5:17 “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I am working too.”
We were created to work and be productive so that we could be blessed and we could be a blessing to others.
- sloth can kill the mind.
Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”
We need to disciple our minds!
- sloth kills the soul.
The spiritual is a rigorous life.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
In other words, go do something!!
