TWO EMOTIONS THAT CAN SABOTAGE OUR POTENTIAL | SAMSON, EPISODE 2

• SAMSON WAS DRIVEN NOT LED.

“Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” For three days they could not give the answer.  Judges 14:14 (NIV)

Then Samson’s wife threw herself on him, sobbing, “You hate me! You don’t really love me. You’ve given my people a riddle, but you haven’t told me the answer.” She cried the whole seven days.  Judges 14:16-17 (NIV)

Samson said to them, “If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle.”              Judges 14:18 (NIV)

TWO EMOTIONS THAT TAKE STRONG PEOPLE DOWN

1. SAMSON BURNED WITH .

…[Samson] went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men, stripped them of their belongings and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle.  Judges 14:19 (NIV)

Burning with anger, he went up to his father’s house. And Samson’s wife was given to the friend who had attended him at his wedding.  Judges 14:19-20 (NIV)

2. SAMSON WAS FILLED WITH .

Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.  Judges 15:15 (NIV)

Then Samson said, “With a donkey’s jawbone I have made donkeys of them. With a donkey’s jawbone I have killed a thousand men.”  Judges 15:15-16 (NIV)

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives the ability to produce wealth.  Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (NIV)

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to GOD! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor GOD with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over.                Proverbs 3:5-10 (MSG)
