COUNTER CULTURE Part 5: How To Bring Order To Your Life In A Culture Of Chaos

June 20, 2021

How can we live strong in our faith in a culture of compromise?

If you take on a name that God hasn’t given you, you will miss the life God has for you.

If you take on a name that God hasn’t given you, you will miss the life God has for you.

There is a battle for your worship.

If you take on a name that God hasn’t given you, you will miss the life God has for you.

There is a battle for your worship.

If your goal is restoration, you’ll always confront with humility and hope.

If you take on a name that God hasn’t given you, you will miss the life God has for you.

There is a battle for your worship.

If your goal is restoration, you’ll always confront with humility and hope.

Stay God-dependent, not self-sufficient.

The Writing’s on the Wall

Daniel 5:2-4

Belshazzar, heady with the wine, ordered that the gold and silver chalices his father Nebuchadnezzar had stolen from God’s Temple of Jerusalem be brought in so that he and his nobles, his wives and concubines, could drink from them. When the gold and silver chalices were brought in, the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines, drank wine from them. They drank the wine and drunkenly praised their gods made of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.

Daniel 5:5

At that very moment, the fingers of a human hand appeared and began writing on the lamp-illumined, whitewashed wall of the palace.

Daniel 5:6

When the king saw the disembodied hand writing away, he went white as a ghost, scared out of his wits. His legs went limp and his knees knocked.

Daniel 5:8

One after the other they tried, but could make no sense of it.

When God is not a part of our life, we will never be able to hear what God wants to speak into our life.

Daniel 5:22

But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself though you knew all this.

Daniel 5:24-25

Therefore God sent the hand that wrote on the wall, and this is what is written:

Mene Mene Tekel Parsin.

Daniel 5:26

This is what the words mean:

Mene: God has numbered the days of your rule and they don’t add up.

Mene = Numbered

Daniel 5:27

Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and you have been found wanting.

Tekel = Weighed

Daniel 5:28

Parsin: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.

Parsin: Divided

Warning Signs:

  1. Taking unhealthy risks

  2. Lack of sleep

  3. Body changes

  4. Inconsistent emotions

  5. Relying on a substance

  6. Spiritually numb

Matthew 6:33

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Put God First:

  1. 1st part of every DAY

  2. 1st part of every DOLLAR

  3. 1st part of every DECISION

The order in which we put God in our life will determine if our life is in order.
