Ephesians 1:11 (MSG)
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living,

 

John 1:12-13 (NLT)
To all who believed him (Jesus) and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

 

Identity Fact #1 – We are , , and by God!

 

Ephesians 1:4-5 (NLT)
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault (forgiven) in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

 

John 20:17 (MSG)
Jesus said, “Don’t cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.”

 

“I am loved, chosen, and adopted by God!”

 

Identity Fact #2 – Our personal freedom has been by God!

 

Ephesians 1:7 (NLT)
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

 

Identity Fact #3 – We’ve been as God’s!

 

Ephesians 1:13 (TLB)
And because of what Christ did … you who heard the Good News about how to be saved, and trusted Christ, were marked as belonging to Christ by the Holy Spirit, who long ago had been promised to all of us Christians.
