35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his  disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38, therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out  laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:35-38) 

 

GOD’S GREAT WORK OF  IS PRECEDED BY GOD’S  PEOPLE PLEADING IN GREAT

 

  1. PROCLAIM THE  OF THE KINGDOM (v.35) 

For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word but also in power and in the Holy Spirit & with full conviction. (1 Thess. 1:4-5) 

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do, and greater works than these will he do because I  am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14) 

 

  1. RESPOND TO BROKENNESS WITH  (v.36) 
  • Compassion on the : “When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick”. (Matt 14:14) 
  • Compassion on the : “When the Lord saw her, he had  compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still.  And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” (Lk 7:13-14)
