Lots of Trouble for Israel

History is filled with various attempts to destroy the people of Israel. For 4,000 years, the Jewish people have faced relentless persecution, opposition, and attempts to annihilate them – and in the future, the struggle against Israel will continue. Yet, according to the video we just watched, the little Jewish state survives. Today’s text chronicles one such attempt to destroy all the Jews residing in the kingdom of Persia.

A chain reaction follows Mordecai’s refusal to bow to Haman. Haman’s pride is so great that he scorns the idea of killing only one person for this offense. He decides that every single Jewish person in the world should die.
