Simeon was a and man

The meaning of Simeon’s name is “.”

Luke 2:29-32

29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you may now dismiss[a] your servant in peace.
30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,
31     which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and the glory of your people Israel.”

Mary and Joseph at what Simeon said.

They were to the birth of Christ.

Six lessons we can learn from Simeon

  1. We are to be and to God.

1 John 1:9

.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

  1. We are to and God’s voice, through the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 64:4  From long ago no ear has heard and no eye has seen any God besides You, Who works for those who wait for Him.

  1. We are to be .

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

  1. We are to be to God’s will for our lives.

Philippians 2:4 “not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.”

  1. We are to be a for Christ

1 Peter 3:15   But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, but do this with gentleness and respect.

  1. We are to be to God.

Revelation 2:10 says, Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
