“A Time for Salvation”

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” – Luke 2:11

Jesus saves you from something.

Jesus saves you for something.

Jesus saves you by something.

(1) Jesus came to save you sin and yourself.

Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.” – Ecclesiastes 7:20

14 “So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. 15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.”  – Romans 7:14-15

(2) Jesus came to save you meaning and purpose.

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.”    – 2 Corinthians 5:15

“If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.” – Mark 8:35

(3) Jesus came to save you His grace.

“What should we do?” 29 Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” – John 6:28b-29

8 “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
