Galatians 5:1-15

1. Never of grace. vs. 1-6

…you have fallen away from grace. vs. 4

• Jesus + anything =

You are severed from Christ… 

• Spirit + faith =

For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. vs. 5

1. Focus on the . vs. 7-12 

“We never move on from the cross, only into a more profound understanding of the cross.”

In that case the offense of the cross has been removed. vs. 11

“The cross still offends…all men are prone to trust in what they can do for themselves and are offended when told they can do nothing at all to make themselves right before God.” John MacArthur

1. Serve each other in . vs. 13-15

…through love serve one another. vs. 13

“So many people misunderstand Christian liberty, thinking that freedom in Christ means they can freely commit all kinds of sin. They use their freedom as an occasion for the flesh. This is a total perversion of what Scripture teaches about Christian liberty. Our liberty is never a freedom to sin freely; it is never a license to sin.
