The Promise: His Feeding

Matthew 14:13-21

  1. Reflect on Jesus’ . 13-14

“The closer you are to Christ, the more compassion you will have to others around you.” Kevin Wilson

When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. vs. 14

  1. Rely on Jesus’  vs. 15-17

…seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” John 6:5-7

They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.”      vs. 17

“The point of the story is: That which was insufficient in the hands of the insignificant became sufficient and significant when placed in the hands of Jesus.”  Greg Laurie

  1. Receive Jesus’ . 18-21

And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. vs. 20

“When you serve with the resources of Christ and the compassion of Christ, you will be blessed in the process. As you serve others, Jesus will always show Himself to be enough for you.”
