    UPCOMING EVENTS:

    • Sunday Service:
      • 9 AM & 11 AMChurch Services IN PERSON @ FBCE and ONLINE (org, Facebook & YouTube)
      • Weather permitting, after each service, we will offer break out groups for adults, youth and kids outside to process the sermon. When outside you are free to take off your masks. When inside, for the sake of loving our neighbors, we will continue to wear our masks.

     

    • Special Business Meeting: Sunday 3/14 at 12:30 PM to discuss some really exciting news about an offer on our facility. We will then take 2 weeks to pray about the offer and vote whether to accept or decline the offer in another Business Meeting on Sunday 2/21 at 12:30 PM.

     

    • Daylight Savings Time: Remember to adjust your clocks forward an hour Saturday Night 3/13

     

    • Summer Camps: We are excited to announce our Student and Kid Ministries will both be attending camp at Highland Lakes this year. Our Students (kids who will have completed 7th-12th grade by this summer 2021) will attend June 21-25 and our Kids will attend August 1-4 kids who will have completed 3rd-6th grade by this summer 2021). If you are interested in your 7th-12th grader attending camp, please email our Youth Minister Franklin Karr at [email protected]. If you are interested in your 3rd-6th grader attending LIFT camp, please email our Children’s Ministry Director Kathrin Carter at [email protected].     • VBS: We are so excited to offer a hybrid VBS this summer June 13-17! We will have 2 in-person services a day (10-11:30 AM and 6-7:30 PM) on the FBCE lawn and post a recording online each evening for those who are joining from home. If you are interested in volunteering with VBS, we would love you to join us Sunday 3/21 after service for a quick lunch meeting outside to hear how you can help with our outdoor VBS this summer!

    o   We are currently out of HEAR Journals. You can download an example of the journals on our website at  fbcelgin.org/dgroups

    • Wednesday Night Services

    o   Wednesday night services will run from 6:30-7:30 PM for kids, youth and adults! Mark your calendars, and we can’t wait to see y’all!

    o   There will be a limited nursery/pre-k class available. Spots will be limited so a registration link will be sent out to reserve spots each week until another class can be formed.

The Romans Road: Wk. 6

Our Goal

Help you learn to share the gospel by showing how you can use the book of Romans as a guide (road) to sharing six essential truths about Jesus with others.

Observations:

1. Calling on the name of the Lord requires a heartfelt belief that Jesus died and rose again for your sake.

  • Romans 10:9-10
  • James 2:19
  • Romans 5:8
  • Romans 10:13
  • Galatians 2:20

2. Calling on the name of the Lord requires coming to an of our in relation to God.

Essential Truth #6:

Calling on the name of the Lord means we need saving, God can and will save us, and ourselves fully to Jesus.

Application:

  1. essential truth #6.
  2. Mentally attach essential truth #6 with .
  3. Begin God daily for to share the gospel.

Family Discussion Points:

*Open by reading Romans 10:9-10.

  1. What is the difference between a general belief in Jesus and a personal belief in Jesus?
  2. Please share with the group when you came to a personal belief in Jesus (i.e., your testimony)?
  3. What comes to mind when you read “even the demons believe”?
  4. Read Galatians 2:20. Do you ever struggle personalizing God’s love and sacrifice for you? Why is that?
  5. Today we said that calling on the name of the Lord requires coming to an end of our self-sufficiency in relation to God. Why is this true? Why do we all struggle with this?
  6. Can you talk about a time in your life when you were unwilling to cry out to God for salvation and were trying to do it on your own? Please share.
  7. What does submitting to Jesus as Lord look like? How does that change a person’s life?
  8. Is it really possible to call Jesus Lord and not submit your life to Him?
