Our Goal:
Help you learn to share the gospel by showing how you can use the book of Romans as a guide (road) to sharing six essential truths about Jesus with others.
Observations:
1. Without Jesus we have no hope of being right with God.
- Galatians 2:16
- Ephesians 2:11-12
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
2. God knows we’re stuck and is listening for our cry for help.
- Exodus 3:9-10
- Hebrews 3:1-6
Essential Truth #5:
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
- Romans 10:13
Application:
- Memorize essential truth #5.
- Mentally attach essential truth #5 with Romans 10:13.
- Keep praying for opportunities to share the gospel and keep reviewing our essential truths.
Family Discussion Points:
*Open by reading Romans 10:13.
- In life we have a choice to either accept God’s solution to our sin problem or try to handle it on our own. Why do we so often try to make ourselves better in God’s eyes instead of accepting His solution? Why is this a hopeless pursuit?
- We don’t need to be better; we need to be made new. Talk about the difference between the two.
- Can any type of better behavior or thought pattern make you holy/perfect? Explain.
- How often do you need to be reminded that God is listening and ready to help? Explain.
- How is Jesus a better Moses?
- Why do you think God waits until we cry out?
- Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How does that make you feel? Does this bring you comfort? Does this make you uncomfortable? Explain.
- We’ve made it through step 5 of the Roman Road. Can you share any of the previous steps?
* In closing, recite essential truth #5 and read Romans 10:13.
