    • Sunday Service:

    o   We are adding a second service and changing service times beginning next week!  We will have a 9 AM & 11 AM service in the FBCE sanctuary and online next week, Feb. 14. 

    o   Join us as we continue our series on “The Romans Road.”

    • Share The Love Challenge
      • Join us at FBCE THIS Sunday, 2/7, to pick up a HE IS LOVE chocolate bar for your family and several more to share with someone you think needs to be reminded of God’s love for them. There are 5 of the 500 candy bars have golden tickets for great prizes!

    o   We are currently out of HEAR Journals. You can download an example of the journals on our website at  fbcelgin.org/dgroups

    • Wednesday Night Services

    o   Wednesday night services will run from 6:30-7:30 PM for kids, youth and adults! Mark your calendars, and we can’t wait to see y’all!

    o   There will be a limited nursery/pre-k class available. Spots will be limited so a registration link will be sent out to reserve spots each week until another class can be formed.

      • If you are a member of FBCE and are open to serving in nursery/pre-k on Wednesday nights, please email [email protected]
      • If you are planning on attending on Wednesday nights this Spring and have a child 4 or under, please email [email protected]

The Romans Road: Wk. 2

Our Goal

Help you learn to share the gospel by showing how you can use the book of Romans as a guide (road) to sharing six essential truths about Jesus with others.

Observations:

1. We have all the rules of God.

  • Romans 3:10-12

2. We are all of .

  • Romans 3:23

Inherited Sin

Inherited Guilt: We are all counted guilty because of Adam’s sin.

  • Romans 5:12

Inherited Corruption: We all have a sinful nature because of Adam’s sin.

  • Psalm 51:5

Actual Sin – What is sin?

  • Anything I that doesn’t please God.
  • Anything I that doesn’t please God.
  • Anything I that doesn’t please God.
  • Anytime I do something that pleased God.

Essential Truth #2:

We have all against God and are of sin.

Application:

  1. essential truth #2.
  2. Mentally attach essential truth #2 with .
  3. Start for opportunities to share the gospel.

Family Discussion Points:

*Open by reading Romans 3:10-12 & 3:23.

  1. Romans 3:10 says that there is no one righteous. Why do we struggle accepting this truth? Why do we have a tendency to think that people are good?
  2. All sin revolves around how we answer 3 questions – what is true, what is right, who am I. When you think about your own sin, do you see how you have wrongly answered these questions?
  3. Most of us are willing to talk about sin in general, but we don’t like to accept that we have a problem. Why does the thought of not just sinning but being guilty before God bother us?
  4. In your own words, explain the difference between inherited sin and actual sin? Are we guilty of both? Explain.
  5. In your own words, explain what sin is.
  6. To share the good news, we also have to tell people the bad news. This week’s essential truth is something that most people do not want to hear. Why is it so crucial that we share it anyway?
