1. The wrath of God is not (15:5-8)

Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness

(Joel 2:23)

2. The wrath of God is (v. 5-7)

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

(John 3:19)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness

(Romans 1:18)

How does the world “suppress the truth”?

3. The wrath of God will be (v. 17)

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36) [John the Baptist]

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live5.
