Closer to Jesus: Habits of Holiness
February 6, 2022 / 2 Peter 3:18 Habits of Holiness
2 Peter 3:18
Main Thing to Know:
Without holiness I won’t grow in holiness
1. Reading
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [c]instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
If the reader could hear God speak, he would find that God said nothing more, nothing less, nothing different from what is written. —Jay Adams
2. Praying
He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” (Luke 22:39-40)
- Pray with others
- Pray the Scripture
- Pray through journaling
- Pray consistently
3. Giving
Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase (Proverbs 3:9)
4. Engaging
Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another . . . (Hebrews 10:24-25)
5. Serving
. . . the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:16)
