Give Thanks #4 – Do, How, Do, Why

Psalm 100:1-5 (NASB) ¹  Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. ²  Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. ³  Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. ⁴  Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. ⁵  For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

Counting on the Lord’s Character

Psalm 100:5 (NASB) 5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

I His goodness.

I in His love.

I in His faithfulness.

Enjoying the Lord’s Character

Be – quit starting and stopping.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT) ¹⁵  Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

Be – stay in God’s face.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT) ¹⁴  Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Be – don’t turn back and don’t waiver

Psalm 18:25 (NLT) ²⁵  To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.

Be – admit your shortcomings.

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT) ⁵  Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.
