Wha’s Next – Take the Next Step
December 27, 2020
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:13 NKJV
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 NKJV
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people … Ephesians 1:17-18 NIV
Four Steps to Flourish
- Know God.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven … Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you.’ …” Matthew 7:21, 23 NIV
- Find freedom.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. … James 5:16 NIV
- Discover purpose.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. … Romans 12:6 NIV
- Make a difference.
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:8 NIV
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you …” John 15:11 NIV
TALK IT OVER
Read Psalm 92:13. In order to flourish, people need to be in the right environment. What things in your environment are helping you grow, and what things might need to change?
The next four steps God wants for all of us are: know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. Of those four steps, which one do you need to pursue?
It’s almost impossible to grow when you don’t have the right people around you. How can you start relying on others more? How can you start helping others grow?
It’s time for you to get moving! Consider the four steps God wants all of us to take and commit to pursuing one of those steps this week.
