PURPOSE IN THE PAIN

April 19, 2020

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.” Luke 22:31 NIV

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. …” Luke 22:31-32 NIV

Sometimes God’s preparation comes packaged as pain.

The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” 62And he went outside and wept bitterly. Luke 22:61-62 NIV

Don’t just look at life from a perspective of pain.

See your pain from a perspective of purpose.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32 NIV
