Finding Your Why

April 26, 2020

If you don’t know something’s purpose, you’ll likely abuse it.

“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.” Acts 13:36 NIV

“The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without purpose.” —Dr. Myles Munroe

THREE PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE

  1. Your purpose isn’t for you. Your purpose is God’s purpose.

I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. Psalm 57:2 NLT

  1. You don’t find your purpose. You serve God’s purpose.

He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens. 71 He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants—God’s own people, Israel. Psalm 78:70-71 NLT

  1. If you want to serve God’s purpose, start serving God’s people!

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 NIV
