August 22, 2021
In a Covid-19 world we know a lot about requirements. There are requirements. There are age requirements. There are requirements to drive a car, license, insurance, for a job and many more.
What does God require of us? Micah 6:6,8 (NLT); What can we bring to the Lord? Should we bring Him offerings? Should we bow before God Most High with offerings of calves? Should we offer Him thousands of rams and ten thousand of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our children to pay for our sins? No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is , to love , and to walk with your God.
1. Do the right thing – as a follower of Jesus, we have requirements. Jesus said the greatest command, which is even more than a requirement is that we love the Lord with all of our soul, mind and and love our neighbour!
ethics are not acceptable for the Biblical believer. We are to live the right way, in , everyday according to what the says not what is always the easiest or politically correct way to live. Doing the right thing means living with Biblical in all ways and situations.
James 4:17 (NLT); Remember, it is to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
If you know what the Bible says to do and you still choose to not do it then you are sinning, period!
John 16:13 (NLT); When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future.
John 17:17 (NLT); Make them by Your truth; teach them Your Word, which is
2. To LOVE MERCY! Matthew 5:7 (NLT); God those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
James 2:13 (NLT); There will be mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when He judges you.
Mercy is an – “Empathy is a , mercy is an action. If mercy does not involve an action, then it has very little meaning. Empathy should to mercy and mercy a practical application.” Rev. G.A. Clark
3. Walk humbly – Galatians 6:1 (NLT); Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is by some sin, you who are godly should and help that person back onto the right path. And be not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Matthew 18:4 (NLT); So, anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the in the Kingdom of Heaven.
“The law’s demands are it is cause and effect. God grace and mercy are forgiveness and restoration are available to all. Humility recognizes, the of God’s grace and mercy in and for our lives and for !” Rev. G.A. Clark
God requires that we do the right thing, show mercy and walk humbly, as we grow in our understanding of His mercy in forgiving us, by His grace. This should be lived out daily with gratitude to God, towards others.
