Scriptural Labour Day – Life

September 5, 2021

What does Labour Day mean to you? What does work mean to you?

2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NLT); Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those to work will not get to .”

Unwilling to work is very different for being physically unable to work. As followers of Jesus, we should be willing to work if we are physically able to work.

Ephesians 4:28 (NLT); If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good work, and then give to others in need.

Work hard and be generous, especially to those in need and or who are unable to work.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT); Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive His . Be a good worker, one who does not need to be and who correctly explains the Word of truth.

Love your job and the people connected with your job for the sake.

God’s was and is for us. He created work in our human understanding.

Genesis 1:1 (NLT); In the beginning God the Heavens and the Earth.

God worked and is at work!

Genesis 1:26 (NLT); Then God said, “Let us human beings in our image, to be like us. They will over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the Earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

God worked and works on us

Genesis 1:31 (NLT); Then God looked over all He had made, and He saw that it was very ! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

Genesis 2:1-2 (NLT); So, the creation of the Heavens and the Earth and everything in them was . On the seventh day God had His work of creation, so He from all His work.

God rested because He was not because He was

Sin has caused the need for human beings to rest. It’s okay, in fact, to rest and relax.

Ecclesiastes 3:11-13(NLT); Yet God has made everything for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole of God’s from beginning to end.

So, I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labour, for these are from God.

A “Good work ,” receives God’s reward!

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT); For we are God’s . He has created us in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He planned for us long ago.

Come to Jesus and rest for a little while!
