Pray Definition; Address a solemn request or expression of thanks to a deity or other object of worship. Dictionary.com
Matthew 6:33 (NLT); Seek the Kingdom of God above else, and live , and He will give you everything you .
– The first prayer, should lead to a life of prayer. There can be a huge difference between a “life of prayer,” and a “prayer life.” A life of prayer begins from the relationship, established through God’s forgiveness, grace and mercy. As we are willing to grow in that relationship, we can receive the wisdom and direction of the Holy Spirit. The effectiveness of that “life of prayer,” is dependant on our response to the Spirit’s direction.
A “prayer life,” can become nothing more than ritual repetition of words without commitment.
God’s Purpose – an effective prayer, asks and seeks for God’s for our lives and the to live out that purpose. Our obedience to do as we have been instructed is then what takes our words into actions.
Effective prayer more than speaks. Effective prayer is not a wish list. It is listening to God’s direction for our lives, in our lives, both here and very significantly, learning an eternal perspective.
Matthew 6:34 (NLT); “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Don’t worry, be happy – God’s got you and all this! This is not a matter of having an understanding of hurt and our pain but a learned understanding of the realities and limitations of a sinful world. We most understand the reality, “the rain falls on the just and the unjust.” At the same time, even though we are in this world, we are not of this world. Our has and is being changed. We have come into right relationship with Christ through His love, forgiveness, mercy, grace and so much more!
Philippians 4:6 (NLT); Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.
Authentic Prayer is Effective Prayer
It’s about our PERSPECTIVE on who God is. That is where our choice is made.
Philippians 4:7 (NLT); Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:9-12 (NLT); Pray like this: Our Father in Heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
Effective prayer is grateful and prayer!
