Mother’s Day at CWC

Ezekiel 37:7-10(7) So I spoke these words, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as they had been before. (8) Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them. (9) Then he said to me, “Speak to the winds and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.’” (10) So I spoke as he commanded me, and the wind entered the bodies, and they began to breathe. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army of them

Proverbs 16:9In their hearts humans plan their course,

but the Lord establishes their steps.

God told us in Isaiah 41:10 to not fear or be dismayed and that he would lead us with his righteous right hand.

God hears you and he cares! He is so mindful of us and cares about every intricate detail of our life!

1. Patiently Wait

Patience: the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

Patience is not the absence of action.

1 Peter 4:9-10(9) Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. (10) Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

2. Surrender

Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

James 1:4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

3. Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6(5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Psalm 139:14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Proverbs 31:10-30 (paraphrased)

(10) An excellent wife who can find?

She is far more precious than jewels.

(15) She rises while it is yet night

and provides food for her household…

(17) She dresses herself with strength

     and makes her arms strong.

(20) She opens her hand to the poor

and reaches out her hands to the needy.

(25) Strength and dignity are her clothing,

and she laughs at the time to come.

(26) She opens her mouth with wisdom,

and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

(30) Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,

but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

1. The insecurities that you may feel are NORMAL!

Self doubt and insecurities aren’t new!

Many people in the bible struggled with insecurities.

– One of Moses’s arguments was that he had a speech impediment he was not by any means a public speaker

(Exodus 4:10)

– If you feel like you are too weak or too young, Gideon’s story is told in the book of Judges. He was the youngest in his clan and his clan was the weakest. Yet, God used him and 300 men to defeat the mighty Midianites.

– If you feel unworthy because of past mistakes or for some other reason, Jesus healed the servant of a Roman Soldier because of his faith, even though the Centurion felt unworthy enough to even approach Jesus himself. Jesus also stood up for the woman caught in adultery. He didn’t condemn her, instead He forgave her. Romans 8:1

Romans 8:1 “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

2. Don’t let your insecurities hold you back from doing what God has called you to do, or from being WHO He has called YOU to be.

3. You are enough!

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Romans 8:37 “…we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

If you are going to say YES to Christ, you automatically say NO to your insecurities.
