Finding Faith in Fasting 

Hebrews 11:6 – But without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God, for he that cometh to God MUST BELIEVE that He is and that He is a REWARDER of them who diligently SEEK HIM.

Romans 10:17 – Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 

The devil doesn’t care what you keep if he can steal your FAITH. 

Matthew 6:33 – “Seek first the kingdom, and all of these things will be added unto you.” 

1. What are your motives behind the fast?

2. What specific needs are you fasting for?

3. “Are you determined to minister unto the Lord during this fast?”

Acts 13:2-3 – (2) As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (3) Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them…

Zechariah 7:5 – “Speak to all the people in the land saying, ‘When you fasted in the fifth and the seventh months even these seventy years, did you fast unto Me’?” 

Are you Fasting unto the Lord? 

Philippians 3:19 – “And they made their bellies their god.”

I Corinthians 9:27 – “I bring my body under subjection.” 

Esther 4:16 – “Fast for me. Neither eat nor drink for three days.” And she said, “Get everybody else to fast for me because I’m going in and I need favor with the king.”

Fast For Favor In A Crisis or Time Of Trouble 

Leviticus 23:27 – Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to humble and deny yourselves and present a special food offering to the LORD.

Jeremiah 36:6 – ”Therefore, go, and read the scroll and the words of the Lord, in the ears of the people in the Lord’s house upon the fasting day.”  

A time to humble, deny and examine yourself and give honor to God 

Daniel 10:2-3 – (2) “And in those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks, (3) and I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine to my mouth, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.”

Daniel 10:11-13 – (11) And the man said to me, “Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been sent to you.” When he said this to me, I stood up, still trembling. (12) Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. (13) But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me… Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

Habakkuk 2:3 – “Wait for the vision, it shall surely come to pass.”
