3 Habits That Change Everything

Successful people do consistently what other people do occasionally. 

Our life is the sum total of all the small decisions that we make!

Proverbs 22:10, 11 – (10) Drive out the scoffer, and contention will go out, Even strife and dishonor will cease. (11) He who loves purity of heart and whose speech is gracious, the king is his friend.

1. HONOR 

Honor can open the door of favor and blessing with the King. 

Mark 6:2-4 (2) The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” (3) Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. (4) Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.”

Respect is earned. Honor is given. 

Who Are We Called to Honor? (4)

Honor God. (Proverbs 3:9)

Our parents. (Exodus 20:12)

Those in authority. (Romans 13:1-7) 

Our Spiritual leaders. (1 Tim 5:17)

Why Does Honor Matter? 

Mark 6:4-5 – (4) Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” (5) He could not do any miracles there…

Dishonor ties the hands of God. 

Dishonor locks the door to your miracle. 

A lack of honor changed God’s plan, his ability to help them. 

Romans 12:10 – …Honor one another above yourselves. (Outdo each other in showing HONOR.)

2. WORSHIP 

Worship is more than words… worship shows worth. 

Genesis 21:12,11 – (11) But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking (making fun of her son, Isaac). (12) So she turned to Abraham and demanded, “Get rid of that  bondwoman and her son. For that woman’s son will never share the inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won’t have it!”

You can have your mockery or you can have your miracle but you can’t have both. 

Galatians 6:7 – Be Not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. 

Both the blessing and the curse of sowing and reaping is that the reaping is always multiplied. 

Genesis 21:33 – Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he worshiped the LORD, the Eternal God…

Genesis 22:5 – “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”

3. COMMITMENT 

Genesis 22:7-9 – (7) Isaac said to Abraham, “Father? We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” (8) “God will provide himself a lamb…” And they both walked on together. (9) When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar…

When you make a lifetime commitment to an altar, it will alter your future for a lifetime. 

Commit to honor. Honor is better than dishonor.

Commit to worship. Worship is better than mocking.

Commit to integrity. Integrity is better than lying.

Commit to loyalty. Loyalty is better than betrayal. 

Commit to GOD. God is better than Satan.

Upon the authority of Your Word,

I have given, and it shall be given to me;

I receive jobs and promotions, raises and bonuses,

Sales and commissions, benefits and settlements,

Bills paid off, and debts dismissed.

I decree that my whole family will be saved and walk with God

In health, abundance, divine favor and blessings.

I will be blessed going in; I will be blessed going out.

And all that I do will prosper in Jesus’ Name.
