Genesis 2:24

…a man shall leave his father and his mother (PRIORITY) and shall cleave unto his wife (PURSUE) and they shall be one flesh(PARTNERSHIP)

Law 3: The Law of : Marriage is a complete union in which all things previously owned and managed individually are now owned and managed jointly. 

The goal is to keep growing together as partners so that you do not grow apart.

Three Keys to Growing Together:

  1. Do not make decisions based on your 

Emotions are bad to base decisions on because: 

  • Emotions are fickle and unpredictable.
  • Emotions may be very real but very .
  • The devil has  to our emotions. 

Ephesians 4:26–27 NIV

In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Make these decisions before the emotions ramp up:

  • We are married for life and  is not an option.
  • We will not go to bed angry. If we can’t work it out, we will submit to godly .
  • We will be sexually faithful to one another and will not allow our hearts to be turned away from one another. 

Hebrews 13:4–5 NKJV

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.  Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

  • We will make all of our decisions together and not bully or demean each other.

Three Keys to Growing Together:

2. Build your lives on the  of your life together.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
