The Christian Constitution Pt. 8 “The Honorable Judge”
October 25, 2020You will know them by their fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23
Matthew 7:1-5
Galatians 2:11-14
1 Corinthians 5:12-13
When it comes to passing judgment, it’s better to first receive than to give.
Ask yourself, do I respond or react when others give me feedback, constructive criticism, or judgment? Will I allow Jesus to transform me and grow me and remove the plank in my eye?
Ask yourself, when I pass judgment do I do so humbly and with a heart to help?
Ask yourself, am I avoiding confronting someone who I need to confront?
LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION
Start talking. Come up with a conversation starter for the group.
- Have you ever had a bad experience giving or receiving feedback? How’d that go?
Start thinking. Create a thoughtful question.
- Why is it so easy for us to see the speck in someone else’s eye but so difficult to see the log in our own?
- Why does God even find this topic of judgement important?
Start sharing. Create questions that create openness.
- What do you think 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 means for us as believers?
- Is there a log in your eye that you need to remove? What is it?
Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.
- Ask the group to stop and take time to share prayer requests and pray for one another.
