The Christian Constitution Pt. 6 “Malpractice”

October 11, 2020

You will know them by their fruit. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Matthew 6:1-18

Colossians 3:23-24

Although Christians are to be seen doing good works, they must not do good works to be seen.

Citizens of Heaven do everything as unto the Lord. They humble themselves and need only the approval of their Father in Heaven, not man. Let God search your heart and reveal what motivates you and your good works.

LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION

Start talking. Come up with a conversation starter for the group.

  • Have you ever had an anonymous good deed done for you? What was it?

Start thinking. Create a thoughtful question.

  • Why do you think we can be so much more motivated by man’s approval than that of Jesus?

Start sharing. Create questions that create openness.

  • What tends to be the motivation of your good works? Why?
  • What will you do to change your way of thinking?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

  • Ask the group to stop and take time to share prayer requests and pray for one another.

Start doing. Create a step the group can commit to and live it out this week.

  • Pray the Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6:9-15
