DISCUSSION Start talking. Have you ever grown something from a seed? What was that like? If you’ve ever tried to grow something or keep it alive and healthy what all did it require from you? Start thinking. Read and discuss: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NIV) – 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. What do you think it means when we say “sow into something”? What do you believe being a cheerful giver looks like? Start sharing. What is an area in your life that you struggle to be generous with? (i.e. forgiveness, grace, material possessions, time, etc.) What is something that you’ve sown into that you now have an awesome story of the wonderful things that have grown from it? Start praying. Take time to share prayer requests and pray for one another. Start doing. Ask God to show you an area of your life where He is asking you to give. Is it forgiveness, mercy, finances, friendship, your marriage? Take this week to make a new effort to sow into that area.
