Strangers in a New World “Cracks” Pt. 1

July 12, 2020

It’s a whole new strange world! Where do we go from here?

2 Samuel 12:1-23

James 1:22-25

Psalm 51:1-12

There’s no better time to of what’s been than right now!

LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION

Start talking.

  • What do you find more challenging to experience and why? Being confronted by someone for something you’ve said or done, or confronting someone else with something they’ve said or done?

Start thinking.

  • Why do you think tough circumstances have the power, almost like anything else, to refine us or reveal what’s wrong with us?

Start sharing.

  • Share of a time when you had someone confront you on something wrong you either said or did. How did you respond? Did you repent or did you get defensive?
  • Read and discuss together what God is trying to teach us through James’ words: James 1:22-25 (NIV)
  • 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

  • Take time to share prayer requests and pray for one another.

Start doing.

  • What has God revealed to you that you need to turn from, repent of, or apologize for? Do so immediately. Don’t wait to follow God into righteousness.
