Grace: the unlimited and unearned favor of God

¹⁰ For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws. – James 2:10

1. Grace is free.

²³ For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. ²⁴ Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. – Romans 3:23-24

2. Grace is sufficient.

⁹ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

3. Grace is available.

¹⁶ For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. ¹⁷For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. – John 1:16-17 ESV

¹³ For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:13

⁸ God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. ⁹Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. ¹⁰For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. – Ephesians 2:8-10
