August 8, 2021 / Genesis 12:1-2,4

How am I at waiting?

Ephesians 4:2 – Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Proverbs 16:32 Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.

Proverbs 14:29Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.

Proverbs 15:18 – A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.

Genesis 12:1-2, 4 – Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Genesis 15:1-2, 4 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.”

Genesis 21:1-3, 5The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised. And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
