Mark 6:45-48
45 Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd… 47 Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them.

Mark 6:48 Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake.

Mark 6:49-50 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified.

Mark 6:48 Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. He intended to go past them,

Mark 6:50-51 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!” 51 Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped.

Mark 6:51-52 They were totally amazed,… but their hearts were too hard to take it in.

What is Water Baptism?

#1 Baptism is our first act of .

Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Acts 2:37-38
37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and BE BAPTIZED, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

#2 Baptism means “I have decided to

(Galatians 3:27) And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.

√ Baptism means I’m cleansed from my sins… because of the of Jesus

(Acts 4:12) Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

(Acts 22:16) What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.’

(Romans 6:4-5) We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
