The Salvation of Saul
June 7, 2020
And Saul was there, giving his approval to his (Stephen’s) death.
… On that day a great persecution broke out agianst the church …
But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and nut them in prison.
THREE THINGS GOD WOULD HAVE HIS PEOPLE DO
1 – As Much As Possible, OBEY the Government.
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
2 – Pray For God’s Power to Help The Church Do God’s Will
When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God …
Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
REALIZE THAT MANY PEOPLE DON’T EVEN KNOW JESUS IS.
3 – Pray for them and offer them the Gospel.
And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”
