No Substitute For Jesus

Galatians 2:11-21

I – Being influenced to turn away from trusting in Jesus.

11 Now when Peter had come to Antioch (PISIDIAN), I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;

12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles;

but when they came,

he withdrew and separated himself, fearing [f]those who were of the circumcision.

 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him,

so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

The HYPOCRACY was – these Influential JEWS came around, they were glad that the sinner Gentiles had repented of their sins, but that wasn’t enough, now they wanted them to become JEWS as well.

Matt. 15:1-11

By doing this, Peter was saying again, “Jesus is not enough for me, I reject Him. “

II – Being Straightforward About The Truth of the Gospel

  • salvation is by faith in the GRACE of God through Jesus Christ.
  • 15 We who are Jews by nature (BY BIRTH), and not sinners of the Gentiles,

    16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law

    but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus,

    that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Year after year, adding laws without end has not made us a more law abiding nation.

Ephesians 2:4-10   We are not saved by works, but for works that God has prepared for us.

Galatians 2:21   I DO NOT SET ASIDE, (SUBSTITUE),   THE GRACE OF GOD;  FOR IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COMES THROUGH THE LAW,  THEN CHRSTI DED IN VAIN.”
