Of Grit and Grace – being used by God

Genesis 41 (NIV) Pharaoh’s Dreams
41 When had passed, Pharaoh had a dream:
Gods plans are certain and WILL come to pass.
Habakkuk 2:3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it[c] will certainly come
and will not delay.
Gen. 41:32 32 The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.
Can God depend on you to be godly?
Gen. 41:37-38 37 The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. 38 So Pharaoh asked them, “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?”
Joseph wasn’t just granting grain, he was granting
Gen. 42:25 25 Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, to put each man’s silver back in his sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. After this was done for them, 26 they loaded their grain on their donkeys and left.
Joseph is a type of Christ, a look at what the Savior will be like. But so is Judah at some points.
Gen. 43:8-9 Then Judah said to Israel his father, “Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die. 9 I myself will guarantee his safety; you can hold me personally responsible for him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him here before you, I will bear the blame before you all my life.
The Grace of Forgiveness
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Everyone from Job to Joseph to Jesus has been lied about and mistreated. But because they held firm, and kept the faith, God did great things through them.
What have you come to the kingdom to do?
