Admonitions for ALL

November 8, 2020

1 Thessalonians 5:26-28

1 –  Greet ALL the brethren with a holy kiss

what was the best greeting you ever received, why did it impact you so much?

May the church be great at greeting – don’t leave anyone out!

We look forward to Jesus’ greeting;  “well done good and faithful servant.  … Enter into the joy of your master.”  Matt. 25

A Holy Kiss –    The “kiss” Paul wrote about was is called a “holy” kiss,  because it was the symbol of Christian affection.

Questions:   Of what good is the greeting of a kiss if you are going to betray your friend?

Greet everyone with a HOLY GREETING, an honest greeting, a sincere greeting, that says

It’s true, you are welcome here,

and I AM your brother, – we’re all part of GODS FAMILY

and I DO CARE ABOUT YOU

We do care about what happening around us in our society.

2 –  I charge you

A. Being given a Charge was serious, it came with responsibility.

B – BY THE LORD

C – that this (LETTER) epistle be read to all the holy brethren.

It is the word of God!

3 – The Grace of Jesus Christ

The concept of GRACE occurs in Genesis 6, where Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah wasn’t saved because he was sinless,  he was saved because he was shown GRACE from God, and he received that Grace because he attempted to live a righteous life.

Do you need to experience Gods’ grace today?  Turn to HIM!  Confess your sins, ask for and RECEIVE forgiveness.

If we were to receive justice, we would all die because of our own sins. Instead of justice, we are shown grace because Jesus died for us!
