                                                             Matt 22:15-33

What does it mean to be a of Jesus today?

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross,  and follow me”  Matt 16:24

Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. [16] They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.  Matthew 22:15-16a (NIV) 

                            Jesus will always have his

3   The Pharisees and Herodians came with a question about

“Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” Matthew 22:17 (NIV) 

    “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Matthew 22:21 (NIV) 

                   Jesus is about life on earth and following him

4    The Sadducees came with a question about

Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”    Matt 22:28      

“You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of GodMatthew 22:29 (NIV) 

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived  what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Cor. 2:9( NIV)

 5    The Pharisees came with a question about the

“Teacher,  which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Matthew 22:36 (NIV) 

” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ [38] This is the first and greatest commandment. [39] And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [40] All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)
