                                       Tough Questions:   How Long Should I Pray?

                                                            Luke 18:1-8

Why keep praying?

It my attention

    “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” Psalm 105:4 (NIV) 

It my request

It my faith

   “For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”   James 1:3-4 (NLT) 

It my heart for the answer  

    “Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.”  Ephes. 3:20 (NLT) 

How long should I keep praying?

As as it takes

 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”   Luke 18:1

I can stop praying when God

What do I do while I’m praying?

Wait

 “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.”   Psalm 37:7a (NLT) 

Wait

  “ …I wait expectantly, trusting God to help, for he has promised.” Psalm 130:5 (Living)

 Jesus is the one who encourages us to in our prayers
