Jesus’ Prayer: Your Will be Done

                                                    Jesus’ Prayer    “Your Will be Done”

                                                                  Matthew 6:9-13 

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10  your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11  Give us today our daily bread. 12  Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’   Matt 6:9-13  (NIV)

“Your Will be done” is another small phrase but a prayer!  

 

 Why is it hard to sincerely pray “Your will be done”?      vs God’s will

 It’s difficult to pray “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” – Heaven vs earth                                                

Further implications:

1   Praying “Your will be done” means giving up of your life

 All our steps are ordered by the Lord; how then can we understand our own ways? Proverbs 20:24 (NRSV)

 

2   Praying “Your will be done” means trusting God to do whatever God thinks is

                Does know and care?

                “He bowed his head and died”      John 19:30

3   Praying “Your will be done” means we may face and

 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42 (NIV)

4   Praying “Your will be done” means praying against the “

 

5   You’ll never know till you

 

                Praying “your will be done” is the way to live
